Student societies are groups created and led by students. They are often based around common interests, activities, arts, political views, religion, culture and faith.

Societies are based within the Students’ Union. The have their own governing constitution and must abide by the Students’ Union constitution. Each Society must have a President, Treasurer and Secretary. Societies run events, socials, hold meetings, campaign on issues and much more.

Any student who is a member of the Students’ Union can set up or join a society.


The Leeds Met Student Union [1] offers a range of societies and student activities. Existing societies are:
