Red Sky Radio
From TheStudentWiki
Red Sky Radio is a new internet radio station due for launch on May 1st 2007 at http://redskyradio.net.
Previews are available at http://redskyradio.blogspot.com and http://www.myspace.com/96179734 The station will feature a combination of talk shows with a focus on viewpoints and subjects not always covered by the mainstream in addition to music programming and recorded sessions/ podcasts from new and unsigned bands.
Obviously the audience will vary with each show, but generally they would be people with a certain degree of technological knowledge looking for something to fit their particular interests. Advertising will therefore be targeted to each particular show
One of the advantages of having an online station is that it is not limited by questions of physical location and as a result is able to have shows broadcast from anywhere in the world as can be seen from the diverse selection of contributors below..

Ken MacLeod
Ken MacLeod is an award-winning Scottish science fiction writer who lives near Edinburgh. His novels often explore various political ideologies and potential future scenarios. Technical themes encompass singularities, divergent human cultural evolution and post-human cyborg-resurrection. MacLeod's general outlook can be best described as techno-utopian, though unlike a majority of techno-utopians, he has expressed great scepticism over the possibility and especially over the desirability of Strong AI. Some of his characters (often but not always villains) are anarcho-primitivists. He is known for his constant in-joking and punning on the intersection between ideologies and computer programming, as well as other fields. For example, his chapter titles such as "Trusted Third Parties" or "Revolutionary Platform" usually have double (or multiple) meanings. A future programmers union is called "International Workers of the World Wide Web", or the Webblies, a reference to the Industrial Workers of the World, who are nicknamed the Wobblies.
