Mission


Mission nightclub is situated in a series of railway arches next to Fibre, it opened four years ago in 2003. Mission is the number one club in Leeds at the moment it was refurbished in 2006 and has become increasingly more popular. The sound systems have been upgraded, an air conditioning system has been fitted throughout and the main room has a unique laser display. Plasma screens have also been introduced to improve the venue further. – Mission website.

Every room and part of the club has its own bar, with the second arena maintaining its original layout. This is a very popular room for those who enjoy to dance with a great deal of comfort. - Mission website. There is a two-level, heated, outdoor terrace with relaxing seating on both levels. Those who still wish to smoke can do so here. So the new laws applying to smoking are not a problem at Mission. There is also a club lounge which is sometimes only available to chosen, premium clientele. It has soft leather sofas, huge gilt mirrors and a huge fireplace, it is known as the exquisite part of the whole club. – The club Mission website.

Mission is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Wednesday is ‘Missionary’ a student night. Thursday night is ‘Homo’ - one of the UK’s best gay nights. Fridays have a different night each week of the month. The first week is ‘Dirty Disco’ the second week is ‘Tribal Sessions’ week 3 is ‘Purrfect Electro’ and the last week of the month is ‘KissdaFunk‘. Saturday night is ‘Federation’. The door entry ranges from £3 on a Thursday to £10 on a Saturday. The Most popular night at Mission is Saturday night Federation which has replaced the night Glasshouse. The two resident DJs celebrate their new record releases. The music played is House vs. Electro, Dirty House and Funky House. – Bars Manager S Thorne.

There are a variety of local DJs at Mission such as Greg Myers, Gary Holden, Jason Guy and Mark Lease. Bar Fibre is owned by the same company so they swap DJs regularly. The clientele at Mission is mixed depending on the night but it mainly appeals to the gay market. – Bar Manager S Thorne.

Missions’ best selling drink is Smirnoff Vodka followed by other spirits such as Sambuca and Tequila which are sold as shots or with mixers. There are 20 members of staff working at Mission behind the bar and collecting glasses. During the week however, only 15 members of staff are needed as the club is not so busy. – Bar Manager S Thorne.

The door policy is fairly flexible but they won’t allow in people who appear too drunk. The dress code is trendy, and smart trainers are acceptable excluding any sportswear. - Mission nightclub website. Mission takes advantage of the new licensing laws staying open to early morning. There is a vast range of music styles throughout the venue, ranging from tribal sounds through to Tidy Trax and Vibealite.

Mission has become increasingly popular and clubbers flock in there thousands each week to experience Leeds most successful club. There are a variety of spaces created to dance, drink, relax and chat. The choice of music is so vast theres something to suit everyone – Tidy Trax, Poptastic, Electro, Dirty Disco, Godskitchen and Missionary. There are various vibes on different nights so all the clubbers needs are met.
