Baja Beach Club, located next-door to the Leeds College of Technology in the city centre, is a great themed venue for a fun, daft night out for you and your housemates! There’s music for everyone (well, almost) ranging from current chart pop and R’n’B hits to pure cheese and student anthems, and with two floors, you can either dance your socks off on the dance floor or check out the talent from the balcony above! £3 on the door with your NUS card gets you selected drinks for £1.50 ALL NIGHT(ie, WKD, Vodka Redbull, Becks, Smirnoff Ice, Barcardi Breezer, and Heineken etc). It’s one of the best value nights out I’ve come across so far in Leeds. The club has a fantastic party atmosphere, with live on-stage dance routines courtesy of the bar staff (think Spice Girls and YMCA), special guests (ok, so they may be ex - Big Brother contestants or one hit wonders, but novelty is everything, right?) stage games, prize balloon drops, a hot-tub, bikini clad tub girls for you boys, hunky top-less barmen for the girls, and (my person favourite) yes, a bubble machine! The toilets are downstairs (it took us 10 minutes to find them after consuming too many £1.50 drinks) which may cause some problems if, like us, you’ve had too many or your new high-heels are hurting your feet, so be careful! But other than that small downside I have never failed to have a great night in Baja so dar, especially with my girl-friends, and best of all it doesn’t break the bank. With four bars in the club, guaranteed it never takes you long to get a round in, and the DJ plays great tune after great tune . . . So as long you're not ashamed to been seen dancing to cheesy music, I would definitely recommend Tuesday’s student night at Baja!
