• Gives you handy tips on how to reduce carbon footprints. And methods in which you can incorporate.
• Useful tips E.g. (By purchasing a 100% new renewable energy product for a year, an American household using an average of 938 kWh per month could help avoid contributing over 15,600 pounds of carbon dioxide annually)
• The site contains information about how to reduce global warming, the green blog allows users to discuss issues relating to global warming and share ideas in which to improve their carbon footprints.
• you can provide information relating to carbon footprints to friends by by simply entering their email address
• sign up for newsletters
BeGreenNow relies heavily on social network capabilities through its website as well as in My Space. The campaign itself features a highly engaging website that is intended to:
• Educate consumers about their carbon footprint (e.g. through content, blog, carbon calculator)
• Motivate action to mitigate impact (e.g. planting a tree, purchasing carbon offset)
• Connect with likeminded people through community functions (e.g., join BeGreenNow community, add link to other social networking sites including My Space, social shopping sites, book marking and sharing sites like Simply, Spurl, Furl
• Spread the word through a combination of awareness (eg, add BeGreenNow button to personal pages or blogs) and viral tactics (forward to a friend).
The BeGreenNow site also features a video contest where users can submit a video about what they do to be green. What is most interesting about this tactic is that marketers have cleverly embedded the video on its My Space profile, rather than on the site. Thus, a click on the site’s video banner takes the user to the My Space page where one can view all of the submitted footage, vote on a favorite video and forward to a friend.
