Amber Cars

Amber Cars are a private hire company based in Leeds.

They:

• provide a female driver on request of female passengers
• accept a Student Union card in exchange for a fare, the student union will then settle the account with Amber and invoice the student for the amount. Please Do not give Amber any other card.
• are the only private hire service allowed to go within Leeds Met halls of residence
• have 15 telephone lines - so you can usually get through!
• are upfront about their prices (see Amber price list)

Please note that Amber Cars are a private hire company, not a taxi company.

The essential differences are:

• Private hire cars cannot be hailed or flagged down - they must be booked in advance.

• Private hire cars can set their own fares.

• Taxis can be hailed or flagged down.

• Taxi fares are metered.
